Flashback Friday: Spotlight on Station 19

The ABC television series Station 19 gets hotter every season, and the recent third season of the show gave CoSA VFX many opportunities to raise the temperature even more.

CoSA VFX publicist Craig Byrne sat down for a Zoom chat with members of the Station 19 Season 3 team: VFX Supervisor Mark Spatny, 2D Supervisor Neil Craig, and 3D Supervisor Michael Capton, as they talk about all of the things that you might not even realize to be digitally created or enhanced.

Why does the show use VFX instead of practical fire? What kind of preparation and planning goes into the visual effects for the series? What are the advantages of a production having a company like CoSA VFX to supervise a show? What set features a blue screen background to create a look that’s not even there? Are there any fully CG environments? All of these questions are answered in this nearly 30-minute video, with a look behind the process provided by Mark Spatny.
