CoSA VFX Artist Spotlight: Aidin Saedi

Aidin Saedi is a Senior Compositor who has been with the company for seven years. He joined CoSA VFX with the start of our Vancouver studio back in 2013, and as the studio grew, he grew with it. Recently, Aidin has worked on such projects as The Prom, Pennyworth, Station 19, Charmed, Raised By Wolves, Swamp Thing, and the upcoming Syfy series Resident Alien.

There are many things Aidin enjoys creating at CoSA VFX, but he especially likes working with dynamics – elements like fire, water, and smoke. He is also known for creative solutions, research, and development. “Some people say I’m fast and reliable; I think that’s mainly because I try to keep things super organized,” he admits. His favorite project that he has worked on at CoSA has been the Emmy Award-winning Gotham; he worked on all five seasons of the show.

Aidin finds the workflow at CoSA VFX appealing, especially when it comes to working on TV projects. “You get to work on more diverse shots in a short period of time rather than looking at a scene in a movie for months,” he says.

As for his influences, Aidin prefers “the originals,” with visuals that had never been seen before, where when you see them, “it takes your breath away.” He specifically cites the skeleton fight scene in Jason and the Argonauts, the city bending in Inception, or the realistic looking dinosaurs first seen in the original Jurassic Park.

We are happy to give Aidin Saedi our latest Artist Spotlight. You can see a few of his favorite shots below.
